Rumour One night in Mullaitivu, two thieves make an attempt to commit robbery at Karan’s house. Seeing a girl alone in the house, they want to gag her voice by forcing a cloth into her mouth. The scuffle wakes up the grandmother and scares the thieves away before anything happens. Next day, the neighbours spread a rumour that the thieves raped the girl. Nobody is ready to hear the truth. He takes her on his bicycle and kills her in the way by raining blows with an iron rod. Seeing him alone, when he returned back his children asked where was their mother. Tilak says that she is admitted to hospital. The children do not believe him and they inform the police. Then, Tilak is arrested on the charge of murdering his wife.
